The Dungog Festival has announced the impressive lineup of artists who’ll be performing as part of the festival’s music program for 2014. Topping the bill is Australian rock veteran and You Am I frontman Tim Rogers, followed by talented up-and-comers The Paper Kites, Husky, and Meg Mac.
Rogers will be bringing his solo show to the Settlers Arms Hotel on Friday, 29th August. An Australian rock and roll icon, Rogers commands a discography that spans 10 critically acclaimed studio albums, many of which still stand today as quintessential releases in Australian rock music.
Rogers’ performance will be followed-up on Saturday night when the Dungog High School hall will host an evening of music featuring a performance from The Paper Kites, who recently completed a sold-out headline tour of the United States, off the back of their acclaimed debut album, States.
The band will be playing alongside Husky, and Meg Mac. ARIA-nominated APRA Award-winners Husky will be bringing the enchanting folk chops they’ve honed with performances alongside Neil Young and Gotye, while Meg Mac is sure to put on an unforgettable set of brooding neo-soul.
The Dungog Festival is a new event for the Hunter Region, showcasing film, food, music, and the local community. It will be held for the first time this August, complete with a program of great food, sublime local music, international films, and community events for a complete cultural experience.
