Ecca Vandal Announces New Album ‘LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO UNFOLLOW’

If your feed’s feeling cursed lately, Ecca Vandal has the perfect solution: log off, get loud, and start unfollowing with intent. The genre-smashing Melbourne force has announced her new album LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO UNFOLLOW, landing May 22 via Loma Vista Recordings. And from the jump, it’s shaping up as a gloriously unfiltered rejection of the algorithm era.

Framed as a record about cutting ties with anything that drains your energy, the album leans all the way into Ecca’s signature cocktail of carnage – pulling from punk, jazz, hip-hop and beyond – while doubling down on autonomy and creative freedom. “The systems. The trends. The illusions of connection,” she explains. “I find empowerment in being loud and noisy.”

Ecca Vandal – ‘SORRY! CRASH!’

The announcement arrives alongside new single ‘SORRY! CRASH!’ (above), a suitably explosive addition to an already stacked rollout that includes ‘MOLLY’, ‘CRUISING TO SELF SOOTHE’, ‘BLEED BUT NEVER DIE’ and ‘THEN THERE’S ONE’. And if the vibe so far is anything to go by, this album isn’t here to play nice..

In true DIY spirit, LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO UNFOLLOW was recorded and produced by Ecca and collaborator Richie Buxton in his childhood bedroom – a self-imposed offline bubble where the pair ditched industry noise, ignored the metrics, and built their own little sonic universe.

Fresh off landing a Coachella debut and gearing up to support Deftones on their upcoming Australian tour, Ecca Vandal is stepping into this new era louder, freer and more uncompromising than ever. Pre-order the LP here.
