Eliza & The Delusionals have formally announced the impending arrival of their second studio album, entitled Make It Feel Like the Garden. The album is set for release on Friday July 19th via Cooking Vinyl Australia, and follows on from their 2022 debut album Now & Then.
The Gold Coast-based pop-rock trio had made their return just earlier in the year with what has since been revealed to be the album’s title track, ‘Make It Feel Like the Garden’. They have been touring extensively throughout 2024 thus far, including support slots for The Front Bottoms on their first tour in seven years and with Holy Holy, replacing an injured Tasman Keith. The latter’s guitarist, Oscar Dawson, served as the producer and engineer for Make It Feel Like the Garden.
To coincide with the album’s announcement, the band have shared its second single ‘Falling For You’. In a press statement, titular frontwoman Eliza Klatt described the song as “a personal favourite from the get-go” of the album’s creative process. “There’s just something about the driving beat and the soaring melodies that I love,” she said.
“We knew we wanted to experiment with saxophone for this record, and this song felt like the perfect track for that. I think it has so much emotion to it, and it’s such a beautiful part of the song. To me, lyrically it’s about not wanting to fall down the rabbit hole of falling in love but you just can’t help it.”

Klatt co-wrote the album with her partner, lead guitarist Kurt Skuse, while they were on tour through North America. They then brought the songs to Dawson’s home studio in Rye, out in regional Victoria.
“It was interesting to see how working in a different part of the world, outside of the comfort of our home studio and Australia in general, influenced our writing and the process of demoing the songs,” said Klatt. “Recording the album with Oscar was an incredibly collaborative experience. He continued to push us out of our comfort zones which lead us to feeling really free creatively. I think this also made us write in our most honest and genuine form.”
Eliza & The Delusionals are about to head out on tour with Scottish indie band The Snuts for their east-coast tour of Australia. The tour begins on Thursday, May 23rd at Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre before it heads to the Metro Theatre in Sydney on Saturday (May 25th) and The Triffid in Brisbane the following day.
