Elle King has revealed details about her strained relationship with her father, comedian Rob Schneider, in a recent teaser for Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde podcast. The Ex’s & Oh’s singer discussed their complicated past, including a claim that Schneider sent her to a “fat camp” as a child.
In the teaser, Elle, who was raised primarily by her mother London King, disclosed that she hadn’t spoken to Rob for “four or five years” until the release of her debut album Love Stuff in 2015. She recounted a phone call from her father following the album’s release, in which he reportedly told her not to discuss him in the press.

Elle recalled, “I was, like, a really, really heavy child. My dad sent me to a fat camp. And then I got in trouble one year because I sprained my ankle and I didn’t lose any weight.” She described the experience as “very toxic and very silly.”
The singer also shared that Schneider “forgot about every single birthday,” including her 18th birthday, which she spent in summer school while her father forgot to celebrate. “I came home and my dad forgot my birthday,” Elle said.
Elle criticized her father’s views on various topics, including drag and gay rights, stating, “You’re talking out of your a*s and you’re talking st about drag and, you know, anti-gay rights and it’s like get fked.” She emphasized her disagreement with his opinions and said he “never helped” with her music career.
The full podcast episode, where Elle further discusses her relationship with her father, is set to be released on Monday. Representatives for Rob Schneider have not yet commented on the interview.
