CONTENT WARNING: The following article discusses mental illness
Sir Elton John has reflected on his experiences involving controversial superstar Michael Jackson.
In an explosive new tell-all memoir entitled simply Me, the ‘Rocket Man’ singer shares his memories of the King Of Pop during his final years of life, claiming MJ appeared to have “totally lost his marbles” in the 2000’s.
“He was genuinely mentally ill, a disturbing person to be around,” John writes, according to Radar Online.
But even decades earlier, John believes Jackson was a troubled character.
In the book, he recalls a bizarre lunch meeting between the pair that took place back in the 1990’s, where Jackson appeared sick and had a face caked with makeup that looked like it had been applied by a “maniac”, while his nose was “covered with a sticking plaster”.
John claims Jackson quickly vanished from the table “without a word” and was later found inside John’s housekeeper’s cottage “quietly playing games” with her 11-year-old son.
“For whatever reason, he couldn’t seem to cope with adult company at all,” John writes.
John’s claims follow a number of disturbing allegations levelled against Jackson, who passed away in 2009, in the documentary Leaving Neverland.
In other news, ICYMI Sir Elton John is coming to Australia for his massive Aussie Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour this December.
His autobiography Me came out today.
