Westworld actress Evan Rachel Wood has taken to social media to accuse ex-partner Marilyn Manson of “horrifically” abusing her for years.
Taking to Instagram last night (February 1), Wood said she is “done living in fear of retaliation, slander or blackmail.”
“The name of my abuser is Brian Warner,” she said, “also known to the world as Marilyn Manson.”
“He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission.”
She continued, “I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives.
“I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent”.
Other Hollywood stars, like Melissa Benoist, Anna Paquin, Ilana Glazer and Selma Blair, have all shared their support of Wood.
Since Wood posted this, she shared the accounts of four other women on her story, all of whom have come forward to share their alleged experiences with Manson.
Ashley Walters, a former personal assistant of Manson’s, said that the artist would allegedly use ” torture tactics, i.e. using different sound frequencies that would shift your mood or make you nauseous, and spy devices to gather information for blackmailing”.
She also said Manson would “would offer me up for sexual encounters to please potential collaborators or friends”. She said she feared for her safety frequently.
An artist known as SourGirrrl accused Manson of rape, circulating nude photos of her without her consent and even threatening to kill her.
Two other women, Sarah McNeilly and Ashley Lindsay Morgan, both accused Manson of controlling behaviour. McNeilly said Manson would lock her in rooms if she was “bad” as well as threaten to physically harm her, while Morgan said Manson blocked her from eating or sleeping while they were together.
Manson has yet to respond to these allegations.
