EXCLUSIVE: Stream This Wild Life’s New Album ‘Clouded’

Recently in the country to support Jonny Craig during his Australian tour, Long Beach acoustic pop punk duo This Wild Life are now gearing up to unveil their debut full-length album, Clouded. Brimming with uplifting punk melodies and nimble guitar playing, it’s available this Friday, 23rd May.

This Wild Life began as a four-piece punk crew inhabiting the tight-knit DIY punk scene of Long Beach, with core members Kevin Jordan and Anthony Del Grosso meeting after working at the same music store. The two began writing tunes and opted to continue This Wild Life as a duo.

Kevin and Anthony’s notoriety grew largely as a result of their commitment to connecting with their fans, having amassed over 80,000 YouTube subscribers. Their profile was bolstered further with their cover of Bring Me The Horizon‘s Sleepwalking, which is sitting at over 3 million views.

The two pride themselves on an ability to keep their hardcore and punk roots, whilst crafting tunes that have a wider appeal, with Kevin sourcing vocal inspiration from well outside the heavy world. “Sara Bareilles is one of my favourites. Maybe people wouldn’t expect that. Or maybe they would.”

Clouded is the culmination of years carving out a sound that is specific to This Wild Life. Kevin’s vulnerable, diary-like lyrics and skilled vocals pair with Anthony’s deft fingerpicking guitar style, and they don’t shy away from experimenting with string sections, pianos, and other original sounds.

Clouded was recorded with Copeland frontman Aaron Marsh and marks the introduction of This Wild Life’s heartfelt, melodic, and at-times haunting acoustic pop punk sound to the bigger audience that they’ve earned. You can stream it below before it comes out this Friday, 23rd May via Epitaph.
