Fall Out Boy Announce New Ryan Adams-Produced EP

Fall Out Boy have announced the release of Pax Am Days, their new eight track EP produced by country-rock luminary Ryan Adams. The release will be available digitally and as part of a limited edition re-issue of their fifth studio album, Save Rock and Roll.

Slated for an October release, the album was recorded at Adams’ own Pax Am studio in Hollywood. The guys in the band have been discussing the sessions with Adams for a while now, saying that they had no expectations for the scheduled recording dates but after two solid days in the studio “somehow some music got recorded.” Frontman Patrick Stump explained:

“One of the most fun things about it [is] that it’s kind of this accidental thing, it’s analog, it’s just tape; he’d be rolling the tape, like 90 percent of the time, even when we weren’t sure what was happening. We would rehearse a song and then be like ‘Alright, let’s take it!’ And he’s like ‘We’re good, we got that one!”

The band have also announced a run of UK shows for 2014, but not before they make the trek Down Under to play to Aussie fans in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. The shows will be their second Aussie run of 2013, having played gigs in Sydney and Melbourne earlier this year. This time they’ll be journeying with Aussie boys British India in tow.
