The mega lineup for Fight To Survive: A Festival To Support The Cancer Council has been announced. Melbourne outfit Confession will headline an extensive roster of quality acts, including Confession touring partners Prepared Like A Bride, up-and-comers Hellions, and Heroes For Hire.
Fight To Survive will be taking over the UTS Underground in Sydney this October, shortly after Confession launch their headline tour with lineup acts Prepared Like A Bride and Graves, in support of their latest album, Life And Death, which features the controversial single Fuck Cancer.
The confronting single, which was written in the wake of frontman Michael Crafter‘s turmoil in witnessing both parents suffering from the disease, was criticised by some as being offensive. The backlash saw Crafter make an appearance on 3AW to defend the single and its positive message.
“If I upset a few people, I’m sorry, but I’ve gotta say what I’ve gotta say. I’ve gotta put the lyrics out there that I believe in,” he said. “There’s not much we can do if people are upset. We’ve got to get on with our lives… if they’re offended for a few days, I fully understand why, but at the end of the day it’s a real positive song about a really dark subject that has confronted me in the last few years.”
Fight To Survive will be a licensed all ages event going down Saturday, 18th October. Tickets are available now through Destroy All Lines and are priced at $26 + bf. Readers can check below for the full lineup. The event is a chance to witness some awesome live bands and help the fight to survive.
