Foo Fighters Australian 2011 Tour Kicks Off In Perth

The Foo Fighters kicked off their Australian 2011 tour in Perth last night at NIB stadium to a packed house of 20,000 fans. Jack Black’s Tenacious D opened the proceedings and Black told the crowd:

When Dave Grohl invited us on this tour, I said, ‘OK, we’ll bring the lightening. The Foo Fighters can bring the thunder!

Well the Fooeys did bring the thunder; they opened the set with the tracks Bridge Burning and Rope from their latest album, Wasting light. They also threw some old classics into the set with an awesome rendition of My Hero.

Dave told the crowd: We’re a real rock band. We don’t need computers.

At the end of the show, Dave Grohl returned to the stage by himself to play two acoustic tracks Wheels and The Best. Then the whole band rejoined him on stage along with Jack and Kyle from Tenacious D and played Times Like These followed with a cover of Queen’s Tie Your Mother Down and Tom Petty’s Breakdown .
