The Foo Fighters have responded to the swell of breakup rumours surrounding them over the last few days, with a troll-tastic fake documentary video mocking reports that Dave Grohl has had enough and is going solo.
In typical Foo style, the band’s teased “official announcement” is a video of Dave Grohl and producer Butch Vig exploring his solo career aspirations, as the rest of the band attempt to move on and “make Foo Fighters great again”. Their solution: Nick Lachey. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The purpose of all this, is to deliver one final message. “For the millionth time, we’re not breaking up and nobody’s going fucking solo.” Observe:
Recently, drummer Taylor Hawkins confirmed that the band are on an “indefinite hiatus”. “We did so much in the past five or six years,” he said in an interview. “I think the world needs a break from us for a little while.”
