Foreshore Festival 2012 First Round Line Up Announced

Kicks Entertainment have today released the initial lineup of one of their biggest and most successful events, Foreshore Festival. Now in its 6th year, the festival will showcase some of the best indie, dance and live talent around at Canberra’s iconic Lake Burley Griffin.

Prior to the announcement, organisers hit a bit of a snag in the form of the venue’s location. Having been forced to be relocated, they began a campaign to bring Foreshore ‘back to the Foreshore’ with which they worked with the National Capital Authority. After this the event scored a sweet spot on the other side of the lake right near Commonwealth Park. This location is also set to feature some amphitheater-type locations to house the renowned Stage 88, Regatta Point and will simply blend in with the beautiful surrounds.

Headlining the event will be Universal phenomenon Tiësto; King of Electropop Calvin Harris, who will be showcasing is unique style of chart-topping meets club-smashing tunage; and of course the current festival favourite ARIA charting 3 x platinum 360.

The Grammy Award-winning, platinum-album selling, New Jersey super-group, Naughty By Nature, is
celebrating their twenty-year winning streak on the event and will nicely represent some of the old school. As the list goes down, see Example, Major Lazer and Dash Berlin amongst local talent Tommy Trash and Bombs Away, and our very own international sensation the Stanford Brothers performing with Timmy Trumpet.

Tickets for the event go on sale 19th July 2nd August.
