Future Music Festival 2014 kicks off this weekend at Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds and fans of all of EDM’s various shapes, sizes, and genres are counting the sleeps until they can get their rave on. In the meantime they can unleash those highlighters and mark up the newly released timetables.
Few details were unveiled ahead of time, but FMF 2014 organisers did announce that this year would not only see the return of German legend Sven Vath‘s popular Cocoon Stage, but that Perth duo Knife Party and touring company The Likes Of You would both curate their own stages.
Organisers hadn’t made things easy for themselves when it came to arranging pleasing set times, unveiling a massive lineup back in September which featured Deadmau5, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Phoenix, Hardwell, Paul van Dyk, and more, later adding Pharrell Williams to the mix.
The 2014 main stage is a relentless onslaught of recognised EDM and hip-hop names, headlined of course by the man in the mouse helmet himself, to be led in by sets from Hardwell and Eric Prydz. Meanwhile Francophiles Phoenix and Australia’s own Cut Copy are occupying the Safari Stage.
Meanwhile, punters looking to enjoy some of the best names in trance can head on over to the Future Sound System Stage, where the likes of international veterans like Paul van Dyk, Markus Schulz, and ATB will be found behind the decks. See all of the splendour of this year’s event below.
