The 2021 Australian Open is set to kick off tomorrow, despite a few hiccups along the way. Now, they’ve announced G Flip, Julia Stone, The Living End, and Something For Kate will all be performing.
It’s a pretty condensed lineup in comparison to past Australian Open Live Stage events. The event usually boasts at least 10 nights of full on, live music, but organisers have had to make changes this year, in light of COVID-19.
Rather than the usual sets, the four artists will perform pop up sets live on the courts. This will see the bands, The Living End and Something For Kate deliver acoustic performances.
Music Promoter for the event, Michael Gudinski says, “The AO Live Stage is such a wonderful part of the Australian Open and while it can’t happen this year, we are excited to offer some fantastic musical experiences for this year’s tournament instead.”
“The acoustic pop-up sets at John Cain Arena will mean music can continue at the AO and provide some great entertainment after the tough year everyone has had.”
As the sets have been changed up this year, punters wanting to see any of the artists will just need to grab a ticket to the respective tournament day.
Times are yet to be announced but you can find the ticket details below.
