German Composer Nils Frahm Announces 2018 Australian Tour

Uber-talented German composer and pianist Nils Frahm has announced his return to Australia for a 2018 tour of the country’s east coast, off the back of his latest album All Melody.

Frahm will play headline shows in Brisbane, Canberra and Sydney on top of his appearance at Melbourne Festival in October, including a performance in the iconic Sydney Opera House Concert Hall.

The tour will be Frahm’s first Australian jaunt since 2014, and the first since All Melody was released in January and his Encores 1 EP was released earlier this month.

All Melody was imagined to be so many things over time and it has been a whole lot, but never exactly what I planned it to be,” says Frahm.

“I wanted to hear beautiful drums, drums I’ve never seen or heard before, accompanied by human voices, girls, and boys. They would sing a song from this very world and it would sound like it was from a different space.

“I heard a synthesiser which sounds like a harmonium playing the All Melody, melting together with a line of a harmonium sounding like a synthesiser.”
