Unsheathe the swords and dust off the drinking horns – Ensiferum are finally coming back to Australia.
The Finnish folk metal legends have announced their Winter Storm Over Australia tour for May 2026, marking their first trip down under since absolutely flattening Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne on the Two Paths tour back in 2019.

This time, they’re going bigger and bolder, celebrating 30 years of battle-tested riffage and bringing their ninth studio album Winter Storm with them – because if you’re going to return after seven years away, you may as well arrive like a Viking longship on fire.
After the pandemic cruelly interrupted their momentum following 2020’s Thalassic (which topped the Finnish charts and cracked the Top 10 across Europe and North America), Ensiferum have spent the past few years sharpening their blades and plotting their return.
Winter Storm marks the end of the longest album gap in the band’s near three-decade history – and by all accounts, the payoff is huge. Expect heroic melodies, beer-soaked choruses, blast-beaten fury and that unmistakable folk-metal swagger that’s seen the band dominate stages at Wacken, Hellfest, Summer Breeze and Ragnarök.
Best of all? This isn’t just an east coast affair. For 2026, Ensiferum are expanding the conquest to Perth, Adelaide and Canberra, giving fans across the country a chance to experience the chaos firsthand.
