Gig At 170 Russell Has Been Relocated Following Fire That Broke Out Over The Weekend

ICYMI, a fire broke out at Melbourne venue 170 Russell over the weekend that prompted an emergency evacuation for punters attending the Alex Dyson-hosted Bingo Logo event.

Now, a show that was scheduled to go ahead tonight at the venue has been relocated to Melbourne’s Max Watts venue as 170 Russell is apparently not ready to host another gig just yet.

Last night, a statement was posted on the venue’s Facebook page detailing the cause of the fire, what actually happened on Saturday night, and that US rapper Pouya’s show that was scheduled to go ahead tonight has been relocated due to water clean up.

“The fire damage is minor however due to the water clean up the Pouya show originally scheduled to take place tomorrow will now go ahead at Max Watts.”

“170 Russell will re-open for the Cradle of Filth concert this Friday 6 Sep.”

The fire reportedly started in an industrial extraction fan unit that was located in the roof behind the stage. Luckily, it was also completely contained in that unit and no-one was hurt.
