Glen Hansard and his backing band The Frames have announced a handful of shows before their appearance at Bluesfest next year.
Three shows have been locked in at Melbourne’s Recital Centre, with two dates booked for the Sydney Opera House’s Concert Hall.
Hansard is touring in support of his debut solo album Rhythm and Repose, which is the Irish musician’s first release since the folk rock duo he was an integral part of – The Swell Season – put out their latest record Strict Joy.
Joining him on stage for the shows are his band The Frames, who last released a full album back in 2006 with The Cost. Hansard has been focusing primarily on material with The Swell Season since then.
Irish singer Lisa Hannigan will be the main support act on the tour. Tickets for all shows are on sale now.
