Musical troubadour Glen Hansard has announced plans to bring his Didn’t He Ramble tour to Australia this October. The shows will be an illuminating experience for fans of all of Hansard’s expansive and eclectic body of work.
Kicking off in Brisbane at the QPAC Concert Hall, Hansard will tour some of Australia’s most prestigious theatres, including Her Majesty’s Theatre in Adelaide, the Sydney Opera House, Melbourne’s Palais Theatre and the Astor Theatre in Perth.
While putting a particular focus on his latest record Didn’t He Ramble, set for release in September, fans can expect a healthy cross section of songs. From his work as a solo musician, to his time as part of The Frames, to his Oscar-award winning collaboration with Czech musician Markéta Irglová for the film Once, the tour is for fans from all his various incarnations.
The songs and stories will be brought to life in vivid depth by an 11-piece group including piano, strings and a brass section. Front and centre will be Hansard’s demanding vocals as he runs the gamut form a whisper to a roar.
