Walk of the Earth’s cover of Gotye’s seminal hit song Somebody I Used To Know sits at 9,112,637 views as I’m writing…
The Canadian band created a massively popular rendition of the track and posted it to YouTube just 4 days ago.
With 4 million views on the first day, it kicked off an epic viral success to say the least.
Well the love’s still spreading with another 3 million+ views since, taking it up to almost 10 million clicks of adoration.
Gotye posted the cover on his own Twitter saying, “I know who to ask for help with acoustic versions of Somebody. It’s hilarious and brilliant”.
The original Gotye (feat Kimbra) video itself has revved up almost 40 million views since its release in July.
Just checked the YouTube views again – in the 15 minutes it took me to write this article at least another 100 people viewed it and it’s clocked up just under 180,000 ‘likes’.
It’s clearly a big year ahead for Gotye, Kimbra AND Walk off the Earth.
