After teasing it, the Aussie run of Green Day’s ‘American Idiot’ Musical is officially heading around the country in 2018.
The Broadway musical launched this year in Brisbane to rave reviews but now the rest of the country is getting a chance to see it.
Dates have been announced in Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane (UPDATE: And Darwin) for early 2018. That means that Brisbane will get another chance to see the musical while other cities will be getting it for the very first time.
Grinspoon’s Phil Jamieson will return once again to play the lead role of St. Jimmy after debuting in Brisbane, as will Phoebe Panaretos who recieved a Helpmann-nomination for playing Whatsername.
“Absolutely stoked to the eyeballs to be reprising the role of St Jimmy for American Idiot in 2018… So many great tunes, such a great time,” said Jamieson in a statement.
“I can’t wait to bring it to y’all around the country! It will no doubt be the best time of my life.”
The musical will start its run at the Sydney Opera House early next year.
