What was always going to be a situation full of pressure, stress and anxiety has ended in a police probe, when Guns N’ Roses’ guitarist DJ Ashba got carried away with his plan to pop the question to his girlfriend.
The couple apparently went for a ride in a police helicopter prior to the big moment, and the axe man really put his foot in it when he posted an image to Instagram of the two mid-flight with a caption that thanked the Las Vegas Police Department “for the most amazing helicopter private tour over Vegas!”
The flight was followed by a special candle lit dinner atop the police station with a table decked out “In roses n a bottle of the bubble stuff”, forcing police to investigate whether or not this was a policy breach.
Considering that taxpayers would be footing the bill, the powers that be are none too pleased with Ashba’s efforts. A spokesperson from the police department Bill Cassell has confirmed to The Las Vegas Review that an investigation is currently underway.
