Aussie metalcore heroes The Amity Affliction have shared a cover of Silverchair‘s 1994 anthem ‘Tomorrow’, as part of an upcoming Silverchair tribute compilation album.
Amity’s version of the song is a heavier and more guttural take on the Frogstomp original, complete with down-tuned guitars and intermittent screams. Stream the cover in full, below.
“I was obsessed with Frogstomp as a 12-year-old boy. I wanted to BE Daniel Johns.” says The Amity Affliction’s Ahren Stringer. “‘Tomorrow’ was the hit and what the world heard first, and still is the hit of their career, in my opinion.”
Amity’s take on ‘Tomorrow’ is the latest track to be lifted from the upcoming Silverchair tribute album Spawn (Again): A Tribute To Silverchair, which has already shared covers from the likes of Northlane, Hands Like Houses and Tonight Alive. The compilation is set for release on 17th November.
The Amity Affliction are set to perform at UNIFY Gathering next year. Hear their cover of ‘Tomorrow’, below.
