Soon-to-be Soundwave 2015 act Fall Out Boy have shared another track taken from their upcoming sixth studio album, American Beauty/American Psycho. Called Irresistible, the song appeared online today as the band gear up to release their new album in a few weeks.
“When I think of Irresistible it brings this image to my head, whether it’s fictional or real, of Sid and Nancy in an alley garbage raining down on them in an eternal spiral of romance and poison,” tweeted band member Pete Wentz along with a link to the new single. “Sometimes it hard not to love what can hurt us the most.”
The anthemic pop punk track follows up previous singles The Kids Aren’t Alright, title track American Beauty/American Psycho and Centuries, and continues the band’s trend towards a more polished, radio-friendly sound.
The history of Fall Out Boy was recently told by a charmingly intoxicated Brendon Urie from Panic! At The Disco who, in a homemade Drunk History segment, took viewers through the band’s origins while the members of Fall Out Boy reenacted his inebriated version of events.
Fall Out Boy’s new album, American Beauty/American Psycho is due out in Australia on Friday 16th January, in time for their appearance at Soundwave Festival.
