Following the release of A Tribe Called Quest’s final album We Got It From Here, Thank You For Your Service, it was announced that the late Phife Dawg’s final album would be released early in 2017.
Phife’s widow revealed “his solo album will be out probably sometime during the first quarter of 2017. We’re working on it now,” she said. “He completed his entire solo album before he transitioned, so we’re excited about releasing that.”
Now we’ve heard the second track from it, following on from the release of ‘Nutshell’ produced by J Dilla last year. The new track is called ‘Wanna Dance’ and features vocals by Dwele and has been produced by Mike City.
Along with this release, we now know that the final record from Phife is set to be titled Forever.
Phife Dawg tragically passed away from diabetes in March of 2016.
