Here’s A Preview Of The Song The Killers Wrote For Robbie Williams

In a strange turn of events The Killers have written a song for Robbie Williams‘ forthcoming 11th album The Heavy Entertainment Show and he’s popped a preview of it up online.

Brandon Flowers, Mark Stoermer, Dave Keuning, and Ronnie Vannucci all have writing credits on the song called Mixed Signals and it was apparently first intended for the band.

“The Killers sound is unique and I think Brandon Flowers is one of the best songwriters on the planet,” Williams told The Sun talking about the song.

“I was at (producer) Stuart Price’s house and he’d just been working with Brandon and played me this song.”

Williams loved the song so much that he asked to have it and low and behold The Killers said yes.

It’s an unlikely collaboration, colliding Williams’ egotistical brand of pop with The Killer’s glossy alt-rock, but if Keven Parker working with Lady Gaga has proved anything, it’s that there are zero rules this year.

To put this collaboration in perspective, when The Killers released their debut album Hot Fuss in 2004, Williams was working on the follow-up to Escapology, arguably one of his biggest albums, spawning megahits like Feel.

The Heavy Entertainment Show is Williams’ first album in three years and will be released in November.

The Killers haven’t released an album since 2012’s Battle Born, so maybe they should stop giving away songs and keep them for themselves.
