Here’s The Winner Of Triple J’s Play School Remix Competition

A 19 year-old producer from Brisbane who goes by the name of COPYCATT has won triple j‘s Play School remix competition.

To celebrate the iconic children’s shows’ 50th anniversary, triple j asked budding producers to flip the iconic theme song and they results were overwhelming, with 600 remixes submitted.

COPYCATT beat out four other finalists with his glassy, sunshine-soaked reworking of the song. He counts Skrillex and Bon Iver as influences which is a strange juxtaposition but you can actually hear it in the remix between the bassy drop and delicate percussion.

He know gets to have a tour around the Play School studio and after that he’ll attend a songwriting workshop with triple j House Party host KLP.

The Play School remix isn’t the only song in COPYCATT’s catalogue. He’s also got two other songs popped up on triple j Unearthed which you can cop for free if you’re a fan of his work.
