US rockers Imagine Dragons are in the country this week for a short promotional visit but they have today announced that they will be back for a longer tour in September.
The band will return to play five arena dates over Australia and New Zealand in support of their sophomore album Smoke + Mirrors. The tour will be their biggest jaunt Down Under yet.
It’s been a huge few years for the band of the back of their 2012 album Night Visions which produced the singles Radioactive and Demons. Off that album alone they toured for two years playing 130 headline dates and 50 festivals.
They were last in Australia for a full headline tour in 2013 which saw them sell-out venues. They will be no doubt hoping for the same kind of reaction for this tour. Rarely does a band with only two albums under their belt reach an audience capable of filling arenas which is a testament to the immediate strength of their radio-ready tracks.
