In case you haven’t picked up on it, this week will all be about Splendour In The Grass. With the impending release of their lineup on Thursday, touring companies are also gearing up to promote festival sideshows for your favourite capital city. It seems that Frontier have jumped the gun a little bit by posting a photo (below) on Facebook with the caption: “We’ve got an exciting tour coming up! All will be announced on Friday.. To tide you over until then, we’ll be giving you a clue a day to try and figure out who the mystery act is. Here’s clue #1!”

Clue #1
Now thanks to the detective work of a Facebook user by the name of Stephen, it has become clear that the image is a snippet of a larger photo of Jack White and Wanda Jackson (see below). Now unless Frontier are announcing Wanda Jackson, Jack White seems like the only logical answer. In the past, Splendour In The Grass sideshows have been announced only days after the actual lineup announcement, so for Frontier to announce a set of Jack White sideshows the day after the lineup release is not out of the ordinary.
Update: Clue number 2 has been posted and it seems as if Frontier have been slightly cleverer this time with no matches returning through a Google Image search and additionally no one managing to crack the clue. There is the possibility that this is a clue to another sideshow that is being announced on Friday after the Splendour In The Grass announcement, making all options possible. Our best guess is that it’s the eye of Garbage front woman Shirley Manson, however this seems as if it’s a long shot.
Clue #2
If this is indeed the clue for a Garbage appearance, or in some way relates to Jack White, only time will tell. The official Splendour In The Grass announcement is to be made via Triple J and Channel V this Thursday
