James Blake Confirms New Album Title Via Another Billboard

James Blake has turned his nose on the tired methods of press releasing information, and taken to the streets of London and Brooklyn to seemingly confirm the title of his forthcoming record – The Colour in Anything.

The first inklings appeared last week in London, when everyday citizens started snapping a four-panel mural painted by none other than the illustrator of our childhood, Sir Quentin Blake. You might recognise his strokes from Roald Dahl classics such as Matilda and James & The Giant Peach. An Instagram post from the musician Blake featuring the illustrator Blake was all the internet needed to connect the dots.

Now, another mural has appeared in Brooklyn, depicting the same gloomy font above an eery display of Blake, the illustrator’s, signature water colours. More over, the words ‘The Colour In Anything‘ and ‘James Blake‘ written along with the London mural all but confirm the phrase as the album’s title.

Blake, the musician, really threw us there for a moment when he said earlier the album would be called Radio Silence.

A rose by any other name will still follow on from 2013’s Overgrown which, interestingly enough, featured a similar figure shroud in shadow. We also know it will contain the stunning new single Modern Souls.

Aussie fans will hopefully have a chance to hear fresh cuts from the record, when Blake heads our way as part of the Splendour 2016 lineup as well as his own Splendour In The Grass sideshows. Catch those dates, below.
