James Blunt has announced that he will return to Australia in October 2025 – roughly 11 months after his last headlining tour of the country. The new dates have been announced as part of the singer-songwriter’s world tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut album, 2004’s Back To Bedlam. The tour will see him perform the album in full every night to open the show, with a career-spanning greatest-hits set to follow. The full tour itinerary, plus ticketing info, can be found below.
“Following last year’s incredible tour of Oz, I knew I had to bring my Back To Bedlam 20th Anniversary Tour to you guys,” said Blunt in a press statement. “I can’t wait to see all of you! I promise to deliver an unforgettable show.”
James Blunt – ‘Wisemen’
Prior to his 2024 visit, which came in support of 2023’s Who We Used To Be, Blunt was last in Australia circa 2018 as part of his world tour supporting 2017’s The Afterlove. Blunt had planned to visit Australia in 2020 in support of his 2019 album Once Upon a Mind, on a co-headline run with Jason Mraz. The tour was ultimately cancelled, however, due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Back To Bedlam was originally released in October of 2004 to a muted reception. Its fortune changed, however, when its third single ‘You’re Beautiful’ became a global hit in mid-2005. The single, which went on to become Blunt’s signature song, peaked at number two on the ARIA Charts and went on to Platinum certification in Australia. Due to the success of ‘You’re Beautiful’, the two previous singles – ‘High’ and ‘Wisemen’ – were re-released and cracked the top 40 in the UK.
The album also features the piano ballad ‘Goodbye My Lover’, which peaked at number three on the ARIA Charts and was also certified Platinum. The album topped the charts in Australia, selling over 670,000 units and going nine times platinum – a feat only surpassed in his native UK, where it did so 11 times.
