In a press release, Cantrell described the album as a serious piece of work, noting its hard-hitting nature and distinctiveness from his previous album, “Brighten.” He emphasized the album’s confidence, stating, “I think it’s some of my best songwriting and playing, and certainly some of my best singing.”

“Vilified,” the album’s lead single, is a powerful track. Cantrell said, “‘Vilified’ travels a lot of places in just four and a half minutes. It’s got a ferocity and really aggressive vibe to it.”

“I Want Blood” features contributions from notable musicians, including Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses, Robert Trujillo of Metallica, and Mike Bordin of Faith No More, among others.

Cantrell will also be hitting the road with Bush starting July 26 for a seven-week tour across North America. The tour will stop in cities like Chicago, Nashville, Boston, and Toronto, wrapping up on September 15 in Los Angeles.
