Multi-platinum British popstar Jessie J has returned with her first taste of new music in four years. Dubbed ‘No Secrets’, the Los Hendrix (SZA, Brent Faiyaz) and Jesse Boykins III-produced track is an alt-R&B confessional, seeing sees the BRIT award-winning and Grammy-nominated artist explore themes of loss, trauma and the impact of social media.
“This song is super personal, but I hope it can be relative to anyone’s life,” Jessie shares. “I’m a very honest person; I say it how it is, and I share a lot of things with the world that most people don’t, but always with a little humour. Humour is key – the music has really gotten me through.”
Jessie J – ‘No Secrets’
Far from Robbie Williams’ infamous 2012 prediction that her career would last a max of 18 months, Jessie J is still going strong 13 years later.
Not only has she just dropped ‘No Secrets’ (which you can listen to up above), she’s also announced a follow-up single, dubbed ‘Living My Best Life’, which is due to reach our ears on Friday, 16th May.
Produced by Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic), ‘Living My Best Life’ is billed as being a euphoric dance anthem.
“I love the sense of moving upwards, so ‘Living My Best Life’ has that same feeling,” J says. “It feels timeless, classic, 80s. It makes you want to dance.”
Keep your ears peeled.
