Jimmy Eat World, Panic! At The Disco, Alkaline Trio Sidewaves Announced

With one fell swoop, Soundwave have captured the hearts of emos with punk leanings all across Victoria and New South Wales, announcing two massive festival sideshows for Jimmy Eat World, Panic! At The Disco and Alkaline Trio in Sydney and Melbourne for February.

Now eight albums into an impressive discography, Jimmy Eat World are often seen as responsible for bringing emocore to the mainstream. Their landmark 1999 album Clarity made way for follow-up LP Bleed American, which spawned hits singles Bleed American (Salt Sweat Sugar) and The Middle and gave them first real taste of commercial success. These Sidewave dates will be the first Australian headlining dates from Jimmy Eat World since 2011.

Panic! At The Disco have overcome their lineup changes and fully embraced their pop side in recent times, their latest record Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die! all synths and pounding drums. But don’t expect them to have forgotten how to put on a rock show – these are the guys who brought us A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out, don’t forget.

Anyone who saw Alkaline Trio when they were here for Soundwave 2009 can attest that the band’s experience and craftsmanship puts them at the top of the punk rock game. Blistering live performances and a reputation for pushing sonic boundaries have made them a must-have in any punk starter kit.
