John Butler Trio & Missy Higgins Announce 2019 ‘Coming Home’ Tour

Written by Tom Williams on September 14, 2018

Two Australian music icons — John Butler Trio and Missy Higgins — have revealed they are joining forces for their first national tour together in nearly 15 years, dubbed the ‘Coming Home’ tour.

Making its way around the country in January and February, the tour includes huge shows at venues like Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl and the Sydney Opera House forecourt, and will see the two legendary acts joined by support acts like Stella Donnelly, Dan Sultan, The Waifs, The Teskey Brothers and Baker Boy along the way.

John Butler Trio will expand into a five-piece (John Butler Quintet?) for the tour, after releasing their new album Home on Friday, 28th September.

Meanwhile, Missy Higgins is currently touring behind her latest album Solastalgia.

“It will be so good to get out of the house and get back on the road alongside John and his band”, says Higgins.

“I have great memories of all those gigs I did with him when I was first starting out and it will be great to play some really special venues together again after all these years.”
