D’Estree founder Géraldine Guyot and Tiffany & Co. EVP Alexandre Arnault tied the knot in Venice over the weekend, and used the opportunity to give an up-and-coming musician by the name of Kanye West a gig. How gracious!
Among the songs West performed at the reception were his My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy cut ‘Runaway’. That seems like a pretty ominous song to celebrate two people ostensibly declaring their eternal love, but hey. He also performed Graduation‘s ‘Flashing Lights’, reportedly along with two cuts from this year’s Donda – ‘Come to Life’ and ‘Believe What I Say’.
Footage from the wedding shows Yeezy performing with a Balenciaga-designed black mask covering his face, which it seems muffled his voice. A clip from ‘Runaway’ also appears to show the rapper struggling to perform the 2010 hit. It’s unclear exactly what’s going on in the brief footage (the mask certainly isn’t helping), but it’s not quite at the level of, say, the rapper’s stellar rendition at the 2010 VMAs.
It doesn’t seem to have hampered the reception, though – footage from ‘Flashing Lights’ showing a packed dancefloor of revellers. Jay-Z and Beyoncé, who recently covered ‘Moon River’ as part of a Tiffany & Co ad, were reportedly also in attendance. See footage from West’s performance below.
