It takes a certain breed of person to be a devoted Kanye West fan, but it seems that the ability to see through all the smoke and mirrors to focus on the finer details of the rapper pays off. His loyal followers have discovered a message hidden in plain sight that confirms his new single Black Skinhead is in fact the long-awaited collaboration between him and Daft Punk.
The song was performed some weeks back on Saturday Night Live, so while his followers might have an eye for fine print, they aren’t very quick about it. After the performance, Black Skinhead was uploaded on to Vevo which, as all legal streaming services require, contains all the information and credits for the track, which lists Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christ as composers.
We’ve known that a collaboration between the two was a reality for some time now, with the French duo talking in detail about their time in the studio with Ye.
Those who have been paying attention will know that Black Skinhead also samples Marilyn Manson’s The Beautiful People, but we suppose Kanye’s at a point in his life where it’s acceptable to let others do the heavy lifting.
Kanye will be soon be dropping his long-awaited album Yeezus, which will be available all over the world on Tuesday, 18th June.
