Karnivool Australian Tour June/July 2011

Perth’s leading progressive rock troupe Karnivool have announced a lengthy Australian tour for later this year. The 20-date trip will see the five-piece heading into various nooks and crannies of this fair isle, heading as far north as Cairns.

As Undercover.fm reports, the gigs mark the first major Australian tour for the band since June and July last year, while the band have hinted that fans can expect a preview of material that may end up on the next Karnivool album, the follow-up to 2009’s Sound Awake. Since their last Australian jaunt, they have toured in Europe and the United States, including an appearance at the Sonisphere festival in the UK.

Of course, Karnivool’s activity has been affected by the emergence of FLOATING ME, the Australian prog supergroup that enlisted Karnivool’s Jon Stockman on bass. They have a debut album out sometime soon.
