Justice have revealed that Kevin Parker – the singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist behind Tame Impala – will be the main support on their upcoming Australian tour. Parker will not, however, be performing live; instead, he will be behind the the decks for what’s being officially billed as a Tame Impala DJ set. Justice’s fellow countryman, French producer Busy P, will open the shows.
Parker was last spotted in Australia back in March, where he came out as a special guest during one of Dua Lipa‘s three shows at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena. As part of the English popstar’s Radical Optimism world tour, she and her band learned a new cover song originally performed by an artist from the same country and/or city that they were performing. For this show, Lipa and Parker duetted on Tame Impala’s 2015 hit ‘The Less I Know The Better’, from the project’s third album Currents.
Justice feat. Tame Impala – ‘Neverender’
Parker and Justice collaborated on two tracks from the latter’s fourth studio album, Hyperdrama. ‘One Night/All Night’ was released as the album’s lead single in January 2024 as a double A-side alongside ‘Generator’. ‘Neverender’ then followed in April, ahead of the album’s official release that same month. Both tracks proved to be popular, with each peaking in the top 10 of the Billboard Dance Charts – at number 10 and number five, respectively.
Both have been a constant of Justice’s Hyperdrama world tour, including in performances at Coachella and Glastonbury. However, thus far, both songs have only been performed live by the electronica duo with Parker’s pre-recorded vocals – meaning that these Australian shows are likely to see both songs performed with Parker singing in person for the very first time.
