King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard Announce New Album, Drop New Single ‘Automation’

Genre-defiant Melbourne rockers King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have announced their first studio album for 2020, K.G. Though a release date is yet to be announced for the record, pre-orders for the follow-up to last year’s Infest the Rats’ Nest will be available at midnight via Flightless Records.

In addition to K.G., the band have also announced a new live album, Live in San Fransisco ’16 – following a slew of live releases from the band over the last year or so.

The news arrives alongside a new single from the King Gizz camp titled ‘Automation’. Stream that below. The band have also shared both the video files and audio stems for the track, encouraging fans to create their own music video and/or remix.

This year has seen King Gizz drop a handful of singles, including ‘Honey’, ‘Some of Us’ and ‘Straws in the Wind’ – all of which will presumably feature on the forthcoming K.G.

The band have also released two films – a documentary about the making of Infest the Rats’ Nest along with a concert film.

In August, longtime King Gizz drummer and manager Eric Moore announced his departure from the band to focus on his label, Flightless.
