Laneway Festival 2015 Sideshows: Banks, Mac DeMarco, Vic Mensa & More

We’ve got a whole new batch of Laneway Festival 2015 Sideshows that have been announced today, with east coast headline shows scheduled for many of the exciting acts named on the Laneway Festival 2015 lineup.

Acclaimed LA native Banks will play just one headline show in Sydney, the charismatic Mac DeMarco will play extra shows in Sydney and Melbourne while Vic Mensa has announced his debut Australian tour will include headline shows in the same cities.

Additionally, Norwegian indie rockers Highasakite will return once more to Australia in January for Laneway 2015 plus Sydney and Melbourne sideshows, as will bluesy rocker Benjamin Booker and Altana singer/songwriter Raury. While Flying Lotus and Lykke Li will play intimate Melbourne shows.

Banks

Since her break-out London EP, L.A. native Banks has notched up a debut tour with The Weeknd, a BBC Sound of 2014 nomination, a breakout Coachella performance and a string of sold out shows around the globe. She’ll grace Laneways stages and the stage of her intimate Sydney sideshow armed with her compelling debut LP Goddess.

Mac DeMarco

Due to hit Australian shores alongside his mum, the charismatic Mac DeMarco, real name, Vernor Winfield McBriare Smith IV, is sure to win over even more fans with his penchant for cheeky lyrics and that endearing gap-toothed smile. At his Sydney and Melbourne sideshows he’ll be armed with his third record Salad Days, and plenty of oddball jams.

Vic Mensa

Chicago native Vic Mensa will be embarking on his debut Australian tour in 2015, playing select headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney as well as national Laneway Festival sets. The 21-years-old has already set out on a trajectory towards the top of the hip-hop game, propelled by the release of his debut EP Street Lights. Known for his captivating and energetic live shows, these dates are not to be missed.

Highasakite

Following their debut Australian tour this spring, Norwegian indie rockers Highasakite will return to Australia for St Jerome’s Laneway Festival 2015 plus two sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne. They wowed Australian audiences earlier this year with their live shows in celebration of their new album Silent Treatment and are sure to do it again once more.

Flying Lotus
