Fans of Led Zeppelin can see and hear the band just the way they’d like to – up close and blasted loud – when their new concert film hits the big screen for one night only.
Celebration Day – which documents the band’s one-off reunion show in London’s O2 Arena in 2007 – will hit Australian cinemas on October 17, roughly a month before it is released as a CD/DVD set.
Pretty much every local cinema outlet – including Village, Hoyts, Dendy and Cinemark – will be doing screenings at their chain’s venues on the day, with most of them happening in the evening at around 7pm or 7.30pm.
And if you’re not in Australia, don’t sweat, Omniverse Vision are distributing the film on 1,500 screens in over 40 different locations around the world, including London, New York and Los Angeles.
Celebration Day runs for 124 minutes (just over two hours) and captures founding members John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant blasting out 16 of Led Zeppelin’s classic hits, including Whole Lotta Love, Rock and Roll and Stairway to Heaven. They were joined by late drummer John Bonham’s son Jason Bonham for the gig, which was a tribute to former Atlantic Records boss Ahmet Ertegun.
