Lily Allen has re-appropriated Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo album cover on Twitter, changing it up to read The Wife Of Pablo.
The British singer has always publicly shown her adoration of Yeezy and named her last album 2014’s Sheezus after Kanye’s Yeezus. The cover for Allen’s The Wife Of Pablo features her with her brother Alfie Allen and her husband Sam Cooper and while it appears to be a joke, there’s something that suggests there’s more to it.
In the Twitter post Allen tagged several producers including Flume, Mark Ronson, Ariel Rechtshaid, Kaytranada and Emile Haynie, suggesting that maybe, just maybe, there is new music on the way with these guys.
Ronson and Allen haven’t worked together since his 2007 cover of the Kaiser Chief’s Oh My God but she recently revealed that she was in the studio with him again. Ariel Rechtshaid has never worked on an Allen record but he has delivered the goods for artists like Carly Rae Jepsen, HAIM and Adele in the past.
The biggest curveball here is Flume who hasn’t had much experience producing in the pop sphere yet although his latest track Never Be Like You went to number one here in Australia.
It remains to be seen whether she’ll appropriate a Kanye title for another one of her albums and call it The Wife Of Pablo, although we wouldn’t put it past her.
