Listen: The National Contribute Song To The Game Of Thrones Soundtrack

The National have contributed a song to the Game of Thrones season two soundtrack, and not surprisingly it’s managed to make its way online. The song they’re contributing isn’t one of their own though, and is actually a song written by George R. R. Martin, the creator of Game of Thrones, titled The Rains of Castamere. Apparently they’re big fans of sci-fi and fantasy, also previously doing a song for Portal 2 last year.

Their new album has been long anticipated, and so far all we’ve heard of it were two new tracks titled Rylan and I Need My Girl from a radio appearance late last year, although it’s unknown whether these songs will end up on the new release.

The National last toured Australia on the Harvest Festival 2011 lineup, as well as doing their own sideshows.
