The National must be fairly pleased with the response from fans regarding the release of Demons earlier this week. The maiden single from forthcoming album Trouble Will Find Me has been followed up just a few days later with single number 2, Don’t Swallow The Cap.
The darker tones of Demons have been countered by the upbeat nature of Don’t Swallow The Cap. The jam is held together with a repetitious symphonic strings arrangement, which simply swells as the track plays out. Just when you thought you had the band’s 6th album all figured out, it looks like we have a fairly eclectic record on the horizon.
Trouble Will Find Me his shelves Tuesday, 21st May but, if that’s too long for you to wait, sink your teeth into this – the band will be releasing their own documentary Mistaken for Strangers at Tribeca Film Festival at the end of April. The doco will open the festival, followed by a live performance.
