“Stevie Nicks has always been my idol & an inspiration,” Miley Cyrus wrote on Instagram. “It’s an honour to now call her my friend and collaborator.”

While Stevie Nicks shared the news saying, “Duet with Miley…Magical! Loved singing with her!”

On getting Nicks’ approval, Cyrus said, “I sent her the song and I said, ‘I have an alternate melody, if you don’t want me to kind of like pay tribute to you and your greatness and how much you’ve inspired me. And she said, ‘You can borrow from me anytime.’”

‘Edge of Midnight’ will appear on Cyrus’ forthcoming album Plastic Hearts. It’s due for release later this month, Friday, 27th November.

Miley Cyrus has had a busy year. She’s delivered a slew of hectic covers: Britney Spears’ ‘Gimme More’, Blondie’s ‘Heart of Glass’, and The Cranberries’ ‘Zombie’.
