Having already bravely brought the subscription service model into the real world, via live music, subscription service GiggedIn continue to boldly go where no local events company have gone before by introducing their own version of ‘exclusive content’ via their members only shows.
Offering users access to a show a night for $35 per month, GiggedIn has been called the Netflix of live music by some – by which I mean us. CEO Edwin Onggo hopes that by giving punters a new way to engage with live music, more people will get out to shows.
“We’ve been focused on one mission – to get people off the couch at home and out to more shows,” he says.
Seeing the service as a great way to attract young people to live music in these times of tough legislation and regulation of nightlife in Sydney (#KeepSydneyOpen), Onggo believes GiggedIn is “reshaping the way Australians experience live music.”
Continuing this mission, the service will continue to reshape the local music market as they follow the lead of streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime and (to far less successful effect) Tidal, by offering exclusive content audiences can’t get anywhere else. Enlisting the likes of Lime Cordiale, Ocean Alley, Mini Bar Mike (BC from Dune Rats), Mesa Cosa, Wax Witches and more, the subscription service took over both rooms of the Oxford Art Factory on Sunday 21st February to great success.
“It’s really rewarding to see us achieving this whilst hearing from members how much they love the service and all the new acts they’ve discovered through us,” Onggo said of the show.
Wasting no time putting together more line-ups for member exclusive shows, the service have three happening in May alone. Alpine, Jess Kent and R.W. Grace set to play first one when GiggedIn once again take over the Oxford Art Factory on May 19th.
“We are very excited to have Alpine headline our members exclusive show this May,” he told us. “Having seen the band at the Metro last year; it will be an incredible experience to see them in such an intimate setting.”
Other than that though, they’ve also got Patrick James doing an intimate show at Brighton Up Bar while Music Feeds favourite Tkay Maidza is also getting in on the up close and personal shows when she plays Plan B Small Club on May 26th.
