Looks Like Parkway Drive Are Bringing Their ‘Park Waves’ Festival To Australia

Hold onto your butts, Parkway Drive are teasing what appears to be the imminent Aussie debut of their own branded festival, Park Waves.

The Byron Bay metalcore titans posted a cryptic teaser across their socials earlier tonight (cop a squiz below), telling us to “get ready for the next wave”. No lineup. No dates. No cities. Just a promise — “PARK WAVES IS COMING”.

“Get ready for the next wave…”

While the teaser’s light on the details, here’s what we do know: Park Waves isn’t just a cheeky pun. It’s Parkway’s own festival concept. It debuted overseas in Germany last year, where Parkway first launched it as a curated mini-fest, bringing a handpicked lineup featuring Dying Fetus, Fit For A King, Erra and Aussie acts Thy Art Is Murder, Alpha Wolf and Parkway themselves (along with a shitload of pyro ofc) to an East German riverside.

So how do we know it’s headed down under? Parkway’s video teaser mentions Aussie heavy tour promoters Destroy All Lines (who are responsible for Good Things Festival, Knotfest and the recently announced metal cruise Hellfest, which Parkway is also headlining) and features stacks of fiery footage from their set at the debut of Knotfest Australia back in 2023).

Given the band’s roots in the coastal hardcore scene and their long-standing dominance of Aussie stages, bringing Park Waves home feels like the natural next move.

The big teaser also comes after a monster couple of years for Parkway, including their massive Darker Still arena tour and historic sold out orchestral show at the Sydney Opera House earlier this year. They’ve done stadiums, they’ve done festivals — now it looks like they’re serving us up one of their very own.

Whether Park Waves will take shape as a destination coastal bash (in Byron perhaps?) or a travelling metalcore roadshow remains to be seen. But if you wanna stay in the know, you can sign up to the mailing list right here.
