French indie-rockers Phoenix and legendary actor Bill Murray have teamed up to record a Christmas single together, and it has the pretty dreary title Alone On Christmas Day.
As Modern Vinyl reports, a 7″ vinyl edition of the single appeared for pre-order momentarily on Amazon, before being removed.
The song is said to feature not only Phoenix and Murray but also Jason Schwartzman, former Letterman musical director Paul Shaffer and New York Dolls’ David Johansen in his Buster Poindexter alias. See the single’s Christmas-y cover art, below.
Alone On Christmas Day will reportedly be released on 4th December, coinciding with Murray’s Sofia Coppola-directed Christmas special A Very Murray Christmas, which will be released on Netflix on the same day. That’s a shot of the band acting alongside Murray in the special, above.
Phoenix appear in the Christmas special alongside other stars like George Clooney, Amy Poehler, Michael Cera and Miley Cyrus, who has already recorded a Christmas duet with her new BFF Mr Murray.
