California heavy metal outfit Machine Head have announced they will be returning to Australia for a headline tour in support of their eighth full-length studio album, Bloodstone & Diamonds.
An Evening With Machine Head will see the legendary metal act kick off their Australian jaunt at Melbourne’s 170 Russell on 22nd June before taking their show on the road playing venues in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
Machine Head are currently taking their An Evening With Machine Head tour across cities in the US, on their most comprehensive American tour ever, playing longer sets without any support acts and throwing in some deep cuts to the delight of fans.
On their Australian jaunt, Machine Head will be showcasing their latest studio effort as well as their extensive back catalogue. Bloodstone & Diamonds was unveiled late last year, and debuted at number 10 on the ARIA charts.
The release wasn’t without controversy. Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn lashed out at iTunes after they prematurely leaking two of the album tracks.
After letting off some steam, the band took the mistake in their stride, not only releasing the songs and their videos themselves but also inviting fans to distribute them as they like – whether that be through posting the video to their own social media pages, or making their own parody videos.
The California rockers last toured Australia as part of Soundwave in 2012, playing headline Sidewaves as well. Tickets for the latest tour go on sale 9am local time, Monday 23rd February. See all dates and ticketing information for Machine Head’s upcoming Australian tour below.
UPDATE 04/03/15: Due to demand, Machine Head have added a second Melbourne show to their forthcoming Aussie headline tour, after selling out the first. The extra date will take place on Tuesday, 23rd June. Updated tour details are available below.
